ARC and Legacy Merge

Why is this happening?

We've been working together behind the scenes for a long time. Two separate organizations with similar goals is confusing for new players and a barrier to participation. Most of the community already plays ARC+Legacy — this just makes it formal and simple.  The leadership for both organizations has formally merged; expect to see branding changes occur over the next year (Discord server names, websites, etc). The playtesters for both groups will keep on carrying on with testing!

What does this mean for Legacy?

Everything Legacy has released so far (Waves 0, 1, and Halloween Squadrons) is folded into the new Community Edition ruleset, plus a few buffs and new content we'll detail soon.

What about Star Forge and the other tools?

The separate ARC and Legacy toggles will be deprecated when the combined ruleset drops, and Community Edition becomes the new default for listbuilding. Star Forge, TTS, T5, Vassal, HoloFoundry.net, the community site, the resources page, and rulings on https://www.armada.wiki/ will all be updated over the coming weeks and months.

Does this change Armada Nexus?

No. Nexus continues to build on ARC+Legacy (now Community Edition) as its baseline, and we'll continue pulling content and concepts from Nexus for future releases.

What about the WIP Legacy Wave 2?

It's still under development. Just as Wave 0 and Wave 1: it'll have an extended Open Beta for wider balance testing. We're still targeting end of 2026 for full release into Open Beta, with the new content legal for the Team Championships at Adepticon 2027 and once balanced, merged into the main ruleset.

Anything new coming soon?

New card templates, OP kits for TOs, dev diaries, teasers, battle reports, and more are on the way. Stay tuned over the next few weeks for the first Community Edition content drop — and maybe early access to two pieces of Beta content we teased a while back...and the ARC03 release is just around the corner!
